Fun Little "Tid-bits" of History

Below are just a bunch of fun little bits of information that we have heard about Chester!
The Chester Historical Society does not claim any of these items to be actual facts, but could be.....  !!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

• Tannersbrook Road used to be called "Rum Road."

• The area by the where the mill was along Old Mill Road used to be called "Skunk's Misery."

• The house (near the road) along Tannersbrook Road (below the old farm house) was built by the farmer for his cheating wife to live in!

• George Washington slept in the Emmons/Wyckoff cabin about one mile south of the center of Chester!
